Arabic is one of the oldest languages in the history. It's a very complicated language that has not been changed during the history like the other languages. Even though there are different dialects and accents in Arabic, the standard Arabic remains the same. Most educated Arabic speakers can communicate with the standard Arabic. Compared to other languages, Arabic is not easy to learn and at the same time it's not very hard to learn. It has what a language needs. For those of you who have heard that Arabic is very hard to learn, I want to say that it could be hard for that student who wants to learn the language 100% in a short time. Let me explain more: Arabic is so big. It contains so many aspects. Let's take the grammar. Grammar in Arabic is completely different from the grammar in English. It's a different subject and being an Arabic speaker doesn't require knowing all that grammar. Many Arabic speakers are not good at Arabic grammar. Even though learning it is very important for some other studies. Another aspect about Arabic is the Arabic Poetry. Since Arabs loved poetry in the past (perhaps more than they do now), there are many collections of Arabic poems which became part of the language. Poetry is available in English ,for example, but it's doesn't have the same value to the learner or the teacher. Maybe since the language in English changes, they don't relate to the past writings constantly. They rather go to the modern writings. On the contrary, Arabic language depends on the past language and cannot be separated from it. Another aspect in Arabic is that Arabic has other fields in the language that is not available in English with the same deal. For example, Arabic contains something called "Magaz" that means comparison between two things have the same character. They might be different in other characters though. You can find that in English but in Arabic it's much more detailed. That makes the writing in Arabic so complicated. Therefore we can say that Arabic is not easy and it's not very hard. |
