In Mild Myopic patients , My advise is not to wear their glasses
while reading ;instead, the can wear mild plus glasses .This will
correct there mild myopia.
I noticed that the tradition of wearing the Veil (al-lethma) has 3
side effects:
1-The air draft coming out of the nostrils and mouth during
talking at the inner canthi increases dryness, itching and tendency of
allergy.
2-It increases crust formation and squamous blepharitis.
3-Pressure on the globe ( cornea and sclera) by a tight lower
(lethma) causes astigmatism and false cylendrical reading in the
auto-refractometry, proof : when she wants to see clearly she
usually pulls the lethma downward.
Dr Ibrahim also noticed:
1- Pressur on the eye lids by a tight lower lethma causing in ward
direction of the eyelashes.
2-Among the poor families, lethma is a nice and fertile place for
Insects ,lice flees and others.

the need for investigations and cooperation with other specialties as in
* Phylectenular conjunctivitis : can be associated
with intestinal worms
* Acute unilateral papilloedema in Youngs points to
certain blood disorders as pernicious anemia , Polycythemia vera ,
thrombocytopenic purpura , macroglobulinemias and leukemia.
* Retinal arterial pulsation always indicates sever pathological
abnormality as anemia or aortic regurgetation.
